Kevin Gay has dedicated over 40 years to the restaurant and hospitality industry, showcasing his culinary expertise and leadership across various prestigious establishments. His journey began as a line cook at a hometown supper club, where he developed a passion for the culinary arts. Kevin's career took him to West Virginia's Snowshoe Resort and then to Vail, Colorado, where he spent a decade honing his skills at numerous resorts.
A pivotal moment in Kevin's career was his time in Italy, where he was sent to learn and perfect his craft under some of the best Italian chefs. This experience enriched his culinary repertoire and prepared him for his role as Chef de Cuisine at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, AZ. His exceptional talent earned him an invitation to cook at the James Beard House in NYC, a testament to his culinary prowess.
Seeking a change of pace, Kevin took a break from the bustling restaurant scene to work in various grocery and meat markets, where he perfected his meat cutting and management skills. In 2023, he joined Slate Hospitality Group as a Task Force Manager for the Wissota Chophouse restaurants, bringing his extensive experience and passion for excellence to the team.
